October 1-21: Decorate Your Pumpkin Contest

Get creative! Carve and/or decorate your pumpkin and make sure to include a purple-colored element for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. To enter, email a picture of your pumpkin(s) to: usarmy.bavaria.id-europe.mbx.acs@mail.mil by October 21. Winners will be announced on October 29 during our Award Ceremony based on the number of Facebook likes.

October 1-28: Online Fitness Challenge

Each year 1500 people lose their lives to domestic violence. This year we want to commemorate the victims by getting together to achieve a mutual goal.

Create a team of up to 10 friends and jointly run, cycle, walk and/or swim 1500 km. Track and report your team’s results and don’t forget to attend our Award Ceremony on October 29.

Prizes for first place in each category:

• First team to reach 1500km
• Highest overall team distance.

Fitness activities must occur in the month of October to be valid. Register by October 20.

October 20: Domestic Violence Support Group
5 p.m., ACS
Having a safe space is important to build resiliency and hope. If you are a survivor of domestic violence, remember that you are not alone. There are numerous contact points for victims of domestic violence in the USAG Bavaria community, don’t shy away from reaching out for help.

October 29: Award Ceremony
2 p.m., ACS Conference Room
Join us to celebrate the winners of the Pumpkin Contest, the Fitness Challenge and more.

Open to the public/Prior registration is required for some of the events.
