Storytime
Join us September through April for Storytime every week geared for ages 0-6!
Tower Barracks Library Storytime - Wednesdays, First Saturday of the Month. 10-11 AM. Second Wednesday of the Month: Make Music Storytime w/ Ms. Etchi
Rose Barracks Library Storytime - Fridays, Last Saturday of the Month. 10-11 AM.Firefighter Storytime in October during Fire Prevention Week. Santa Storytime in December. Sensory-Play Storytimes once a month, every other month.
*No storytime during the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year'sReading Challenges

Summer Reading Program
Every Summer our Libraries participate in DoD Summer Reading Program, centered around a Reading Challenge that includes incentives for all ages, it is full of activities & events that encourage literacy, learning about the world, and connecting with our community. Reading can be logged 01 June – 31 July. Information will come out in late Spring. No worries if you arrive late! You can still register and log retroactively until 31 July for those who miss the start.
Winter Reading Challenge
Track your reading through the month of January & February and potentially win prizes! Reading can be logged January 1-February 28.
1000 Books Before School
The 1000 Books Before School program is a fun and exciting way to start your child on the path to literary success! This reading challenge provides incentives for logging 1000 books read before starting school. Earn rewards at 100, 500, & 1000 books, and get your name on a dragon egg on the board at your library. Watch as their dragon egg rises through the clouds and hatches the more books they log. Geared for ages 0 – 7 years old.
Collect the Classics
Stop by either Library & check out our Collect the Classics display near the front desk, where you can pick up a book list card! For each book you check off the list, you can collect a unique button pin. Book lists are available for Teens+ and Adults. Possible to collect a total of 33 special pins. Keep an eye out for special collectors pins during holiday seasons or special literary events!
Easter Egg Hunt
Join us for an Easter Egg Hunt at the Libraries! Occurs every March. Registration opens 01 March & is required by emailing: usarmy.grafenwoehr.library@army.mil
Brick Building Free Build Hour
Join us and use our extensive collection of brick-building blocks and kits to stretch and strengthen your imagination by making your own creative builds. We even have large bricks for younger ages!
Your build can even stay on display in the library (with your permission)!
Tower Barracks Library - 2nd Wednesday of every month, 4:30PM (October-April)
Very Scary Library
You are cordially invited to our Very Scary Library, our family-friendly Halloween event that occurs every October. Brave the trick or treat path at Tower Barracks Library and end with some spooky crafts and activities and explore the Rose Barracks Library with a one-day only scavenger hunt!
Stuffed Animal Sleepovers
Bring your stuffed friend to the Library for a sleepover with all the other stuffies! Pick them up the following day with a special surprise. Occurs once in the Summer, and once in December with Santa!
STEAM, Movies, & Crafternoons

Use the library's online resource tool called Chilton Library!
It features repair, service and maintenance information on cars, trucks, vans and SUVs.
When you are ready to work on your car, make an appointment at your USAG Bavaria Automotive Skills Centers.- Access to the Chilton Library is easy but you must have a library account.
- Visit: army.dodmwrlibraries.org
- Choose: "My Account"
- Enter: Your web login and PIN
- Select: "Online Resources," scroll down (in alphabetical order) and click on "Chilton Library."
You can use this feature on any personal device at home or at the Automotive Skills Centers.

- How long may I check out items for?
-Books, audiobooks & Vox/Wonderbook: 3 weeks + 2 renewals, unlimited checkouts
-Movies & music: 3 weeks + 2 renewals, 10 simultaneous checkouts
-Video games: 3 weeks + 2 renewals, 2 simultaneous checkout
-Board games: 3 weeks + 2 renewals, 1 simultaneous checkout
- Can I order items from other libraries?
Yes; you can either order them from home by logging on to “My Account”, a special online library feature on the Army Europe Libraries (AEL) homepage, or you stop by and staff will order desired item(s) for you. As soon as your item is received at the library, you will be automatically notified by e-mail.
- What happens if I lose a library item?
The item must be replaced according to the AEL replacement policy (no cash transaction)
- How will I get notified if a library item is past due?
You are notified via system generated e-mails.
- What kind of events or promotions do you put on?

In order to download an e-book for free to your personal device, you need to register with your local library and at the same time request access to “My Account”.
