Our military spouses play an important role in mission readiness. They offer others a shoulder to lean on as they experience the stress of a first deployment, and comfort the little ones when they ask 'When's mom or dad coming home?' Our spouses sacrifice their time, and they sacrifice their careers. They also endure tremendous hardships and pain.
On April 5, we pay our respects to those spouses who continue to serve--now as a survivor and a living reminder of a Fallen Hero's commitment and dedication to this nation. We honor our spouses who continue to serve proudly, even after their loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice.
