Rich in history and character, Salzburg offers: gardens, shops, museums, day tours and much more. Ride in a horse-drawn carriage down the historic alleys and then stop at a café and try a “Sacher Torte,” Austria’s famous chocolate cake. Don’t forget to check out Mozart’s birth-house on Getreidegasse Str. 9 within the old town wall and Mirabell Palace and Gardens, where scenes from the Sound of Music were filmed. Salzburg offers multiple versions of hop- on hop-off tours and walking tours that begin at the tourist information office and are readily available on the hour.
